2ND OPEN CALL FOR GRANTS – ECO4ALL CA22124 (GRANT PERIOD 1)

The ECO4ALL COST Action (CA22124) announces the 2nd Open Call for Grants for the first Grant Period (GP1). This call provides funding for Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs), Virtual Mobility (VM) Grants, and ITC Conference Grants to support researchers and innovators in advancing knowledge on circular economy practices, particularly in reducing, reusing, and repairing.

Types of grants available

Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) provide funding for researchers to visit a host institution in a different country to conduct specific research activities. These missions help researchers gain new skills, access specialized techniques or equipment, and foster long-term international collaborations. Each grant may cover up to €2,500.

Virtual Mobility (VM) Grants support remote collaboration between researchers within the ECO4ALL network. These grants facilitate online mentoring, knowledge exchange, and coordination of joint research efforts. Virtual Mobility grants are funded up to €1,000.

ITC Conference Grants offer financial support to Young Researchers and Innovators from Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITC) and Near Neighbour Countries (NNC) to present their research at high-level international conferences. These grants aim to enhance the visibility of researchers and the ECO4ALL Action. Each grant may cover up to €1,500.

Application and evaluation process

Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis, with decisions communicated within five working days after submission. The amount awarded will be determined based on the complexity of the proposal and its relevance to the ECO4ALL objectives.

All funded activities must be completed by October 20, 2024, and final reports must be submitted by October 31, 2024.

Eligibility and evaluation criteria

Eligible applicants include researchers and innovators affiliated with institutions as defined by the COST Annotated Rules. Grants will be awarded based on their alignment with the objectives of the ECO4ALL Action.

Applications will be evaluated according to:

• Relevance to the Working Group and ECO4ALL objectives (40%)
• Level of international collaboration (25%)
• Suitability of the applicant’s background (20%)
• Potential impact on the applicant’s career and ECO4ALL goals (15%)

Applicants must submit their proposals via e-COST, providing:

• A completed application form
• A CV (maximum three pages)
• A detailed budget justification
• A letter of confirmation from the host institution (for STSM)
• Additional documents as required by the ECO4ALL Action
