Day 2 ECO4ALL WG1 & WG2 Hybrid Meeting – Kos, 05 September 2025

The second day of the ECO4ALL WG1 & WG2 hybrid meeting, held on 05 September 2025 at the Kos International Convention Centre, opened with a focus on the implementation and outreach of Deliverables D3 and D8. Action Chair Olesea Plotnic and WG2 Leader Isidora Milošević introduced the agenda, stressing the importance of connecting scientific outputs with citizen awareness and policy impact.
The morning session, moderated by Mihaela Tofan, presented insights into citizen engagement and environmental challenges:
Citizen Awareness of the Circular Economy and Its Impacts: Case Studies and Insights – presented by Agisilaos Economou.
The Environmental Footprint of Tourism – presented by Eleftheria Klontza.
Attitudes and Viewpoints Towards Plastic Materials and Pollution – presented by Demetris Lekkas.
The Issue of Nano-Micro Plastics in Health and the Environment – presented by Zorpas Antonis.
These contributions shed light on behavioural patterns, environmental risks, and the pressing need to address plastic pollution from a multidisciplinary perspective.
The afternoon session, moderated by Maria Menshikova, continued with practical approaches and cross-sectoral challenges:
The Doughnut Economy in Practice: Consumer-Centered Strategies – presented by Katerina Bojkovska.
Gender Equality & Green Transition: Perspectives for an ECO4ALL Gender Equality Plan – presented by Tatia Dolidze.
Direct and Indirect Teaching Practices of Circular Economy – presented by Guranda Chelidze.
Farm Biosecurity as a Key to Sustainable and Circular Farming Systems – presented by Ilias Chantziaras.
The day concluded with a stakeholders’ meeting (17:30–18:30), gathering representatives from the regional government of Kos, the South Aegean Region, the Hellenic Recycling Agency, and the Local Hotel Association. This dialogue underlined the strong link between ECO4ALL research and regional strategies for sustainability.
Day two thus provided a comprehensive exchange between scientific research, education, gender perspectives, and policy actors, creating bridges between research deliverables and societal impact.
