The COST Action CA22124 – ECO4ALL (EU Circular Economy Network for All: Consumer Protection through Reducing, Reusing, Repairing) successfully organized its 9th ECO4ALL Webinar, entitled “Aligning Law Design and Policy Pathways in the Circular Transition: Case Studies and Best Practices.”
The webinar brought together around 90 unique participants, including members of the ECO4ALL network, researchers, representatives of public institutions, international organisations, and external stakeholders from across Europe. The event provided an excellent platform for exchanging knowledge, sharing best practices, and strengthening interdisciplinary cooperation on circular economy policies, legal innovation, and consumer protection.
The webinar was opened by Prof. Dr. Mihaela Tofan, Vice-Chair of COST Action CA22124 – ECO4ALL, who welcomed participants and introduced the objectives and agenda of the event. She highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue in developing effective legal and policy solutions that support the circular transition.
Participants benefited from insightful presentations delivered by distinguished speakers from academia and international organisations:
Dr. Maria Menshikova (Mercatorum University, Italy; WG3 Leader) presented “Circular Transition through People Empowerment: Italian Best Practices in Skills Development and Stakeholder Engagement,” demonstrating how education, capacity building, and stakeholder participation contribute to accelerating the circular economy.
Prof. Dr. Jarmila Šebestová (Silesian University in Opava, Czech Republic) shared valuable experiences on policy support mechanisms and practical approaches promoting circularity in the Czech Republic.
Veronica Lopotenco (United Nations Development Programme – UNDP) presented the Green Transition Public Opinion Barometer in the Republic of Moldova and showcased UNDP initiatives supporting sustainable development and circular economy implementation.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ioan Dumitru (Academy of Economic Studies of Romania) delivered a presentation entitled “Administrative Reform in Construction and the Circular Economy: From Permit to Deconstruction – Closing the Loop across European Legal Systems,” highlighting the importance of regulatory reforms in facilitating circular construction practices.
The webinar concluded with an interactive Questions & Answers session moderated by Dr. Brikenë Dionizi (University “Luigj Gurakuqi” of Shkodër, Albania), providing participants with the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss national experiences, and explore future avenues for collaboration.
The active participation and interdisciplinary discussions demonstrated the growing engagement of the ECO4ALL community in promoting innovative legal, policy, and governance approaches that support the transition towards a sustainable and consumer-oriented circular economy.
