EU Circular Economy Network for All
Consumer Protection through reducing, reusing, repairing
The COST Action CA22124 – ECO4ALL (EU Circular Economy Network for All), in collaboration with the GROW! Early Career Initiative of GRONEN, is pleased to invite young researchers and interested participants to attend the webinar From Theory Shopping to Theoretical Rigour: Sustainability Research Essentials, which will take place on Friday, 24 April 2026, from 15:00 to 16:00 GMT.
This webinar is designed to address an important challenge in sustainability research, namely the need to move beyond fragmented uses of theory and towards stronger theoretical consistency and academic rigour. The session will provide participants with valuable insights into how robust theoretical foundations can strengthen research design, improve analytical clarity, and increase the overall impact of scholarly work in the field of sustainability.
The event will feature presentations by Prof. Irene Henriques from York University, Canada, and Prof. Jintong Tang from the University of Richmond, USA. The session will be moderated by Dr. Tarlan Ahmadov, Researcher at NECE – Research Unit in Business Sciences, University of Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage with leading scholars and reflect on essential questions related to theoretical development in sustainability research, with a particular focus on the needs and perspectives of early-career researchers. The webinar will offer a valuable space for academic exchange, reflection, and learning within an international interdisciplinary setting. You can join the session via the Microsoft Teams link.
